Join Us On Our Walk

The kids and I have started taking our dog for a walk every morning. We go to a local park just a few minutes from our home and walk for at least a mile every day it isn't raining out. We take the time to laugh, chat and talk about what we find along the way. We discuss the different types of wildflowers and often spot rabbits and butterflies. This morning I decided to take along the camera and snap a few pictures as we went along...

A Tradition I Would Love To Start

I am a very sentimental sort of person. I'm always the one that sees some deeper meaning in everything LOL. I like things to have meaning and I love to make happy memories especially for my children. One tradition we haven't started with them but I would really love to invest the money in is a Birthday Ring . You fill the holes with figurines and each year you take one out and replace it with a candle. The idea behind it is to also have a "story" to tell about your child for each year and light a candle for that year as you are telling it. I think this is a beautiful way to celebrate the life of your children! Here is a short video with someone telling their story as they light the ring...

You Can Wear Elephants To A Wedding Right??

There aren't any weird taboos against wearing elephants to a wedding are there?? I just bought this skirt off of eBay with "hopes" that it will work for the wedding. I LOVE this skirt. It is very me and it is a wrap skirt so I'm "hoping" I can take a really deep breath, have DH pull REAL hard and cinch me and my baby fat tummy in real tight LOL. I also have shoes and a shirt to match it if they actually fit me that is... And yes those are little elephants tromping around the skirt so hopefully there aren't any unknown taboos or bad luck associated with elephants and nuptials. Crossing Fingers for a good fit...

I Need A Corset!

Let me tell you something... It really isn't a good thing to have a wedding to attend only a month after having a baby!! I am SOOOOOO not a dresser upper. My wardrobe consits of 2 or three skirts which I rotate through for Church and maybe 1 pair of high heels and a scattering of dressy shirts mostly yard sale finds. Since having the baby lets knock that down to about 1 skirt that fits and that is black. NOT the most wedding appropriate. Now, I'm not really complaining as this works for me. I don't feel the need to have a new outfit every week or a closet stocked full of clothing. I would rather put my money toward more "important" things. But when you have a wedding to attend it does create a few issues. I knew the wedding was coming up so I have been searching for awhile. Now mind you my searching means browsing the Internet as I don't really do the "mall thing" very much. I found what I thought was the perfect skirt and shirt, crossed my fingers it would fit in time for the wedding and clicked away... Cute shirt and gorgeous skirt, only problem is they DON'T fit. Ok, I can kind of squeeze into them but breathing might be an issue after about 2 minutes or so LOL...This morning I spent about an hour trying on different combinations. Some were to big, most to tight. A few would be ok if I just didn't have a layer of baby flab encircling my tum still. Do you suppose they still make corsets??

Find The Lowest Gas Price

My mother shared this neat site . It lists the lowest gas prices for your area. It is updated daily. Anything to help us in this madness! The lowest price in my area today is $4.03 eek! I keep telling DH we need to buy a horse and buggy. I've always been entranced by the Amish lifestyle and hey the kids would LOVE it LOL!

My First Order!

My first order from Diapers.com arrived today. Four One Size Bumgenius diapers!! Ok, so it took me selling about two boxes full of old diapers we didn't use anymore to afford these four Bumgenius but oh well...They are SOOOO worth it. I love them. I had gotten one of the 1.0 styles off of The Diaperswapper site but these were my first 3.0's. I love the new infant inserts. They make them much more compact on a one month old. Still, not exactly trim but I've come to expect that anyway using cloth on a itty bitty. I started out this round with a big stash of prefolds and high hopes of ecing. That turned into a mama who is still trying to get into the swing of having four kidlets and has bairly thought of pulling out the potty (although I am getting a great sense of when she is going so maybe soon...) and a little one with SUPER sensitive skin who got a diaper rash the first few weeks of life. So we have come to the conclusion it will have to be pocket diapers for this little bit. I have literally been listing anything we don't use in our stash this week to come up with funds to get pockets. At almost $18 a diaper Bumgenius are not the cheapest route. But they work so nicely and once you factor in the fact they are one size it takes a bit of the sting out. Oh and noooo diaper rashes once we switched over to pockets with micro fiber inserts. YAY!

I'm In Love!

I think I need to be banned from all baby wearing sites out there. Yes, I have officially fallen in love with another carrier. Do you think there is a twelve step program somewhere for those of us addicted to baby carriers? LOL! No really I don't have that many any more. I've tried a lot mind you but I only keep what I'm really using. Right now little miss is fueling my addiction as she MUST be worn all day long to be content. She love, love, LOVES to be worn in her sling. This works great for the newborn phase but I really don't have anything that is going to work well once she has some weight to her. I know from past experience that my back does not do well with large babies and one shouldered slings. I'm passing along my Moby as wraps that are twice as tall as me and I just don't get along very well . I HAD been thinking Ergo carrier and contemplating just how to raise $92. That was until I met the Beco Butterfly lol. I am so entranced now. It has this fantastic inner pocket so I could use it now for the infant stage with TWO shoulders and it goes up to some ridiculously high weight limit like 45 pounds or something!! I have read nothing but rave reviews and ahh the patterns, you have got to love them. Only catch is now I have to figure out how to come up with $140!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Inspiring

You just can't watch these and not get a warm, fuzzy feeling...

Kind of makes me want to run downtown with a sign...

After all everyone could use a hug right!?
